Washington's Long Beach peninsula is one of the Pacific Northwest's most popular recreational areas. It is located about a third of the way up the coast, with the city of Long Beach at the south end and the peninsula stretching upward, bounded on one side by the Pacific Ocean and on the other by Willapa Bay. The area is home to several small lakes, a portion of Lewis and Clark National Historic Park as well as Leadbetter Point State Park in the north and tiny Pacific Pines State Park further south, near the town of Ocean Park. Popular recreational activities in the area include boating, fishing and horseback riding. The peninsula is sprinkled with campgrounds.
